Keep Your AC’s Filter in Mind This Summer

May 18th, 2020

air-filterHere in Vermont, winter has been known to overstay its welcome from time to time. Even those of us used to such shenanigans will admit that accumulating snow post Mother’s Day is really starting to push it, though. With that in mind, we are going to turn our focus toward warmer thoughts in today’s post, and talk about your air conditioning system. More specifically, we are going to talk about the air filter in your home cooling system.

There are some common misconceptions about this air filter, including its primary objective, that we’d certainly like to put to rest. We’d also like to help you understand just how vital it is that you keep that air filter in great working condition. That means changing it out when needed. And that is a job that is much of less of a hassle than some homeowners seem to think! In fact, it’s probably the single most important AC-related task that you yourself can handle.

Major Benefits of Air Conditioning Maintenance

May 4th, 2020

AC-technicianFor reasons well beyond our understanding, there are still homeowners out there that fail to schedule professional air conditioning maintenance on an annual basis. Even more perplexing is the fact that they fail to do so when our technicians are here just waiting to ensure that they get the best that their air conditioners have to offer. Let us be blunt about this. Routine air conditioning maintenance is, without exception, the best thing that you can do for your air conditioner in Southern Vermont.

Now, we realize that you don’t necessarily need your air conditioning system just yet. However, we also know that homeowners too often wait longer than they should schedule routine maintenance, sometimes not even doing so until they realize that problems are brewing. Problem is, that’s when repairs are needed, not maintenance. Today, we’re going to share with you some examples of why you really cannot, should not, must not overlook the need for annual AC maintenance! Continue Reading

shower-headOf all the problems that you may encounter with your home plumbing system, low water pressure may not exactly sound like the most urgent. And you know what? It may not be. What too many homeowners fail to realize is that low water pressure can actually be indicative of very serious plumbing problems.

Today, we are going to look at some of the reasons why you may encounter low water pressure in your home. We’re also going to remind you that our plumbers in Southern Vermont are here to help you when you do find yourself in this unenviable situation. Taking Stock of That Old Air Conditioner

April 6th, 2020

ACLast time around, we recommended that you take a few minutes to take stock of your home heating system, now that we are slowly but surely (admittedly, more slowly) moving into the warmer time of the year. As you consider how your heating system performed this past winter, we also encourage you to think further back and consider how your air conditioner functioned last cooling season. It may seem premature, but look at it this way—you don’t want to be thinking about it when the temperatures have already risen!

Spring is a great time to go ahead and replace your air conditioning system in Southern Vermont. Even if you’re not planning to replace, you’ll be scheduling routine AC maintenance anyway. Of course, you don’t want to tune up an AC that you’re going to decide to replace in just a couple of months anyway, right? So keep the following in mind, and remember—you can count on our team to handle any and all AC services that you may need.

Take a Look Back At Your Heater’s Performance This Year

March 23rd, 2020

Green Grass? Flowers? We’ll Get There Soon!

When it comes to using our heaters in Southern Vermont, we are definitely not in the clear just yet. While other areas in the country are looking at cold temperatures in the rearview mirror, we’ve still got plenty of chilly days and nights to deal with. The end is close, though, if not quite in sight just yet. That makes now the perfect time to start making an honest assessment of your heating system, its overall performance, and your overall satisfaction with that performance.

We’re not saying that you should only focus on the negative here, of course. It’s possible that you were totally satisfied with your system, as you have been in years past, and a little routine maintenance prior to next season is all you’ll need to get back into it. However, you may also start to realize that things are quite meeting your expectations when it comes to your home heating experience. That’s when you contact us!

Things are warmer and sunnier, but we know that a backslide into more wintery weather is never really off the table this early on—and we’ve barely even cracked the seal on mud season yet! Even so, we’re sure that you’re ready to start thinking about spring and, for many of us,  doing so means thinking about the projects that we want to accomplish.

If you’re at this stage yourself, then installing a mini split heat pump, or ductless mini split, in Southern Vermont is definitely a project that should be on your radar. Ductless mini splits have become an absolute favorite HVAC system among homeowners throughout the country, and with good reason. We’re going to dive into the benefits of ductless mini splits in the following post, but just remember—any HVAC system is only as good as the installation and ongoing services it receives. Ultimately, you may decide that sticking with oil is the right move for your home and your home heating needs. In order to make an informed decision, though, you need some information. And that is the point of today’s post. So read on, and be sure to reach out to our team with any questions that you may have. Continue Reading
